Why I love autumn so much...

...and it's not to get everything pumpkin flavoured!

After this quite exhausting summer, the arrival of autumn is very welcome and invites me to get ready for darker and colder days.

There is in me this need to clean around, and at that time of the year it doesn't even feel like a core , but in the contrary it's like a liberation of the mind.

When autumn is here it feels almost the same than when spring is making its come back after the long winter months, and we have (well at least "I HAVE") this energy to get things in order, to welcome temperatures' changes, different colours and smells only this time I'm looking for autumnal flavours with excitement.

I must confess I never understood why we should be the same all year long and get criticized when moving things around, it doesn't make any sense. Nautre itself changes from January to December!I'm not going too far with this topic this time but it could be an idea for a future post.

Now let me share a secret........... For approximately a year I've been working on a book project (oops I think I already said too much ) and during my researches I came accross some old traditions and folklore celebrating nature in each season and it has been very helpful on a personnal side because it changed quite a lot my approach on the eve of a new month.

Whereas spring and summer have been rather productive in terms of creation which happens to be the same in nature with all the glorious colours, blooms.... I can feel how important it is now to slow down and wrap things up to make space for new ones.

It all started with some gardening and a great book:

(I feel positive changes always happen in nature!)

I was getting rid of the poor plants that didn't survive the roasting summer, cutting branches, rearranging flowers, dividing roots, when suddenly the satisfaction of being outdoors proudly staring at a clean and tidy tiny area in the garden drove me the in the most natural way to start decluttering my own room to get ready for the next chapter of the year.

Even if noticing the generous curves of the pumpkins in the back of the yard on a foggy sunday morning still makes me want to roll in a warm blanket and turn myself into a giant burrito with a hot chocolate and my favourite episode of a certain little Belgian detective (if you know who I am talking about you are my people )

the reason why I appreciate autumn is mostly because of this need to slow down as I mentionned above, to have a first result of what have been completed so far this year and what need to be completed now. How to be more aligned with the person we became over the last months and gently preparing ourselves to welcome more good news.

Now while I was doing all this decluttering I came accross a certain amount of old artworks, from different techniques, themes, categories and I decided to have for the two coming weeks a small studio sale with a "temporary" category on my shop.

With artworks made during what seems like another life and then forgotten in a folder some years ago.

I'm talking about a time

when we were having fun with art challenges on instagram before it became a popularity game and when you didn't have to fight to prove you are a human artist!
