I don't recycle, I rescue.
By recognizing and utilizing the often overlooked properties of discarded items I explore the themes of craftsmanship, sustainability and transformation to create a bond between the natural and artisanal worlds.
My work reflects personal curiosity and daily wonders of ordinary things by making use of reclaimed material such as paper waste.I collect the ressources around me - such as paper, cardboard, packaging - which will serve as a base for my sculptures. Then, by transforming paper waste into a papier mâché pulp, I give shape to my work by applying the paper mixture directly on my initial structure before completing with handcrafted botanical paper ornaments.
I work intuitively, using my imagination and library of images gathered in my mind from years of observational drawings and paintings. Using creativity as an artistic process in my works and showcasing the beauty of the ordinary invites viewers to engage with their own environment.
